Last night, while we’re in line to grab KOI bobba drink, there were a couple of teenage girls holding a tumbler in front of us. When it was their turn, they insisted to the cashier to let them use their own tumbler even though they got the predictable reaction from the waiter. Along with the barista, he refused to use the tumbler and suggest them to bring KOI tumbler instead, (which you can buy ONLY at the upcoming gallery at PI). And while watching the girls convincing the barista, I noticed they’re like munching something (look like kkuldak takeouts?) from the tupperware.
Even though they ended up buying only one drink in a plastic cup, I thought that was the good, straightforward action these two girls take to refuse a single plastic use for the manager and later, the owner itself to reconsider the side effect of their business
that produce plastic waste at an alarming rate.
I won’t label them—and any other people who try to avoid producing waste on a daily basis—as an SJW (social justice warrior).
For me, they’re the true champion.
This world needs more people like them.
