I might say that 2016 is one of the best year I've ever had. It's been a year of ups and downs indeed, but I would like to admit that I enjoyed any of it. I began my 2016 by staying in Pahawang, Lampung doing snorkeling, watching the sun to set while drinking coconut water right from the coco shells etc etc. Followed by a couple visits to hospital and another series of unfortunate events related to work, I still managed to make some short getaways tho :p.
Let say one of the achievement I couldn't be proud of more was, I finally scored A10-Financial Math module and won a stay-cation voucher at some villa in Bogor because I got the 1st rank in class. Maybe for some people it was easy breezy especially when you able to convert your A-to-B score of financial math in college to get A-10. Then you don't even bother to take exam or extra class to pass A-10.
However, I should take it because I got 'D' on my transcript.
Yes, I repeat, 'D'.
I know it really is a bad score, like, your lecturer try to say that you were too dumb to take the class.
Even my close friends thought that I deserved D score too. I admit that I used to skip some classes due to my double degree but in this case I attended the classes and did all the homeworks, even I joined study club outside the class. The weird thing was, when the final score came up, I and my friends in class of 2010 got D (there were 5 people at the moment, we happened to take junior [2011] financial math class) and students in class of 2011 got various score from A to B.
Well, see the difference?
In addition, the final exam was really difficult so I was 100% sure no one in that class weren't able to do it. I knew later that the exam was taken from PAI* and most of them were from Society of Actuary--which is well known for their no. 1 difficulty level of math so here's the question, how come you expect us to get a good score while the handbook was made by the lecturers themselves and the materials they taught wasn't that far from the handbook either? How come class of 2011 could get A-B score and we, class of 2010 happened to get D ? Clearly you see one of the example of the subjectivity in my Institution.
In contrast, in the middle of 2016 I retook Financial Math class held by PAI* itself and the lecturers are from Gadjah Mada University. He used 'The Theory of Interest' book for the reference and taught very clearly. I bet the ones who got A to B score in my previous class in college don't know how to calculate NPV, reinvestment rate, ammortization, or even annuity in depth.
Once I received my A score transcript, this flashback popped in mind and for instance I can't help the urge to rub it on my friends' face.
It's been 5 years already but I couldn't forget, or even forgive about this. I've been judged unfairly with my friends and lecturers. I was so pissed at the point that I believe there's much better education out there so I decide to take higher degree other than in my previous college. I didn't mean to brag but rather than underline the point about mistreatment I got from my lecturer who was happened to be one of the head of department at that time.
Well, maybe I should continue the curcol later on the next post.
Equally important to say, In 2016 too, I met my boyfriend whom I described in the previous post. And no, I won't post his photograph here where anyone could see. He's the one who could stand by me when nobody does and never stop reminding me to do good. In short, he's one of the countless blessings I've got from God.
Life has been pretty crazy in 2016, pretty good and pretty bad times, still I am here with a a stronger belief that I can go through it.
So looking forward to any good things to come next, specifically in 2017.
